Hi everyone, welcome back to our blog! In today’s post, I am going to share with you my experience with drinking powdered greens for two weeks. The reason why I decided to do this and make a blog post out of it was because when I started doing my nutrition certification, I became very interested in supplements and just learning more about them. One that was mentioned multiple times in the class because it seemed to be good overall for just good health were powdered greens. They were also becoming very popular within fitness influencers and nutrition influencers that I followed, so I was curious and wanted to give them a try. I decided to do this for two weeks to see how it worked out.
What are Powdered Greens?
Powdered greens are made of a blend of vegetables, seaweed, fruits, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and other ingredients. Of course, all the ingredients will vary based on the brand that you get. They are meant to boost your immunity, help with gut health, and also help with bloating. The main reason why I decided to give them a try was because I was experiencing bloating and, sorry for the TMI, but also a little bit of constipation. This was one of the things that people said was really helpful, so I decided to give it a try to see if it was as good as people said they were.
Choosing the Right Brand
For our little experiment, we decided to try the powdered greens from Synergy. The reason why I chose this company specifically is because I’ve been following this company since it launched last year. It is owned by a fitness influencer that I found on Instagram, and actually, it’s her gym guides that I follow at the gym. I’ve been following her gym guides for over a year and I love them. When she launched this company, I got really interested. They started with pre-workouts, which was the first thing they sold. I tried them and loved them. Now they have more products, and I’ve tried a couple of them, and they’ve all been really good. So, of course, once they came out with powdered greens and I decided to give them a try, I knew that was the brand I wanted to go with.
What Bloom Nutrition Promises
Bloom’s greens and superfoods contain 50 plus nutrients including whole fruits and vegetables, fiber, probiotics, organic greens, superfoods, antioxidants, digestive enzymes, and adaptogens. Take a serving a day to decrease bloating and improve gut health, immunity, and natural energy levels. This product has no artificial coloring or flavoring. From reading this, it has pretty much what I am looking for, which is something that will help me reach my vegetable intake.
Daily Updates
Throughout these two weeks, I recorded some videos to document the process and how I felt. Here are some highlights:
Day 1: I tried Bloom’s powdered greens for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It wasn’t bad at all, better than expected.
Day 2: I didn’t experience any bloating even after eating less healthy foods. My boyfriend also noticed the difference.
Day 5: Still no bloating, and I was enjoying the flavor. Constipation issues were still too soon to tell.
1 Week: No bloating at all. I was feeling great and continued to take them every morning before breakfast.
2 Weeks: I had nothing but good things to say. It helped with both bloating and constipation. I liked the taste and found the consistency interesting.
Final Thoughts
As you could see with my blog/video entries, I really enjoyed taking the powdered greens for these two weeks. I was even pleasantly surprised by the taste. Although some people didn’t like the flavor, Bloom’s brand had the most favorable comments. It tastes similar to matcha, so it’s not bad.
Additional Benefits
Another thing I want to mention is that my mom also tried the powdered greens with me. She has been feeling very bloated, and she said that it has been helping her a lot as well. This product is not meant to completely replace whole fruits and vegetables, but it’s a great supplement to help you reach your daily requirement. It’s also great for traveling because it’s easy to prepare.
Conclusion
To wrap up, this is my personal opinion. I’ve really enjoyed taking them and feel they have helped me with my issues. I plan to keep taking them. If anything changes, I will let you know and keep you updated. If you have tried any other brands or had a different experience, I would love to hear from you. Please leave any comments with other brands you’ve tried or how you felt when taking the greens.
